I've been listening to a 9yr old rattle my walls while playing his electric guitar (amp on full blast) non stop.

Listening to a 3yr old tell me a thing or two every five minutes.

Trying desperately to hide the sarcasm in my voice every time that sweet (but sometimes a little slow on the uptake) husband of mine asks me where something is, such as the bread, or the toothpaste. Really??? You do you live here, right????

Anyhow, to celebrate my return I have decided it's about time that I do a giveaway!!! Yay....just in time for the holidays!!!

Irresistibly Sweet Blog Award!!!

WooHoo, yay, yipee...lil 'ol lucky me just received the Irresistibly Sweet Blog Award from the ever so gracious Jana, over at  Raining Grace !

Thank you Jana, you're a doll!!

The rules of this blog award are :
  •  I must share 7 things about myself (I can never follow the rules, so I did 9!),
and
  • I must share the love by awarding 7 other bloggers!

So here we go...

1. At the current moment I am sadder than I can express that the last installment of the Harry Potter films is soon to be over.

2. The perfect meal for me is a nice  plate of Bangers and Mash with a tall cold pint of Guinness Stout beer to wash it all down, and a lovely Sticky Toffee Pudding to end it all.

3. My youngest, who is three, has started calling me "Sir" (which by the way, is starting to give me a complex).

4. I love the sound of chirping birds early in the morning when the rest of the world is still asleep.

5. I have developed a strong liking to skinny jeans, I find that they hold droopy, saggy parts in quite nicely; they're almost like Spanx that you can wear out in public!

6. It never fails, I always cry at the sweet sound of children singing, even when they're looking off to the right of the audience with their finger jammed up their nose. It's only the wee folk that can get away with this...can you imagine if I did that? Please, no one answer that!!

7. I just reconnected with a dear friend after 15 years, and nothing is more refreshing than picking up exactly where you left off, just as if no time at all has passed. The testament of true friendship!!

8. My new favorite British television series is Doc Martin. The Doc is rude, and tactless...and I LOVE him!!

9. When I was 9 years old, I vowed to grow up and own a beef jerky factory that served cold Dr. Pepper!!! Ahhh, the dreams of the innocent. To think that all could  be right in the world with a limitless supply of beef jerky and cold Dr. Pepper!!

Oh yeah, don't forget to pay a visit to sweet Jana over at Raining Grace: http://janabailey.blogspot.com

Here are the 7 bloggers that I'm passing this sweet award onto:

A Little Taste of Heaven

Hello Folks!!!

As the old saying goes, "time flies when you're having fun" and how true I am finding that to be!

You see, on June 18Th, I will be celebrating my 40TH birthday!!!

Can you believe it???

You know I don't look a day over 25(lol)!!!!

Now as my luck would have it, modern technology has yet to invent a youth serum, so I guess I am forced to really start taking good care of myself. Not that I don't take good care of myself now, but there's always room for improvement, right???

Part of my "improvement" plan is to drop 5 to 10lbs.

I figure, hey, why can't I have the face AND the body I did when I was 25???

Humor me people!!!

So, all has been going really well. I've been eating tons of fruits and veggies, and I've discovered that I have a true talent for making a wide variety of fabulous homemade soups (since that's all that I've been living on).

I figure if all else fails in life I can open up a soup kitchen!!

Now here's the problem.....

I have come across the most INCREDIBLE shop on Etsy called Lebleux Cookies, and the Pastry Chef behind all the magic is Chef Vincent Lombardo!!

I must admit, that never before have I bought any food related items on Etsy.

I've always been a bit hesitant....

What if it's not fresh by the time I get it?

What if it tastes terrible?

What if there's cat hair or something floating around in the cook's kitchen?

Well my dears, my fears have been abated!!!

Vincent Lombardo, a Pastry Chef, who just recently graduated from  The French Culinary Institute in New York City, makes the most WONDERFUL, DELECTABLE, MOUTH-WATERING goodies!! He even worked under Master Pastry Chef Jacques Torres at Jacques Torres Chocolate Haven!!!!

My dear friends, I am a Food Network Junkie, and let me tell you, if you don't already know, Jacques Torres is a BIG DEAL !!!!!!

Anyhow, let me show you what I ordered from dear Chef Vincent...

Cinnamon Whiskey Cookies

Do these not look divine????

According to Chef Vincent these are his specialty cookies, and I can see why!! These yummy little treasures are basically a  snicker doodle sprinkled with roasted cinnamon, and then soaked with a sweet whiskey glaze! Can you get any better than that???

These cookies were so incredibly yummy, and did I mention that I ordered them on a Friday night, and had them in my mouth by Monday afternoon!! So no need to worry if these little babies are going to arrive fresh!!

I was so excited to get these cookies, and they truly did live up to the hype. My only problem is that my cute little family had the nerve to stick their hand in the cookie jar; so to speak.

Let me explain.

Rarely does anyone in my house eat sweets, except for me and my little daughter, Scout. I can pack the cupboards with the most sugar laden items, and no one ever wants them! The ONE time I figure I have a treat for myself,  EVERYONE in the house has developed a sweet tooth!!!

The nerve!!!

Well, I guess I shouldn't be greedy!!!

Anyhow, next on my list is the Ganache Filled Brownies, I've already ordered them, and I can hardly wait to get them!!

And guess what???

My beloved husband and son don't like chocolate!!! Yay!!!

What about my littlest one you ask?

She takes her daily nap at 12:00...looks like I'll be eating those Ganache Filled Brownies promptly at 12:05!!!

So folks don't forget to stop by Lebleux Cookies and take a look at all the goodies, you won't be disappointed!!

These treats really are a little taste of heaven!!

If you would like to show Chef Vincent some love, visit his Facebook fan page at: http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Lebleux-Cakes/131311826938961.

Until next time, I bid you adieu!!

Okay, so here's the deal.... my lil 'ol job is to bring a bright cheery smile to your beautiful faces by showing you something BLUE and pretty...AND how to create it yourself!! So check out the list of instructions below!!

Materials you'll need:

1. A good adhesive; my favorite is E6000.

2. Double looped jewelry connectors (see photo below); I think the little lacy filigree ones are puuuuurdy!!

3. Earring of your choice; my preference are the French wire earrings.

4. Something pretty and sparkly, such as the vintage glass jewels that I'm using.

5. Cabochons (the little cream colored flowers in the photo); the ones that I use are 10mm, which is a perfect size for the filigree connectors I use!

6. 4mm jump rings.

7.A set of jewelry pliers; you can buy inexpensive ones at Michael's, or any other crafts store.
Cousin Craft & Jewelry Bent Nose Pliers 4456; 3 Items/Order

8. A piece of foil or parchment paper.

Assembly time!!

1.Lay down your foil or parchment paper.

2.Apply a small, thin layer of the E6000 to the back of your cabochon, and adhere it to your jewelry connector. Gently press down.

3.On your foil or parchment paper let dry. I would recommend 24 to 72 hrs  dry time before handling roughly.

4.Take a jump ring and your set of pliers and gently open the jump ring.

5.Take your connector that has dried and slip the jump ring through the bottom loop of your connector, then take your jewel of choice and slip it on as well. Close the jump ring, both pieces should now be connected.

6.Now take your earring of choice and slip it through the top loop of your connector.

Your done....simple as that folks!!!

Here's what your final product should look like:

Stylish Blogger Award!

Hip hip hooray....another blog award!!!
Thanks so much to my talented friend Jenna, from Jennasaurus for passing this award on to me...I feel so honored!!!

Here's the rules to this little baby:

1. Thank the person who tagged you and link back to their blog

2. Share 7 random facts

3. Share the blog love ( the part I love)!

Okay for my silly random facts...

  • I hate wearing underwear in the summertime if I have on a dress or skirt (keep your comments to yourself!). This often results in many prayers before I head out the door, a big gust of wind would be rather tragic...yeesh, how embarrassing would that be!

  • I'm a HUGE Twilight Saga fan; I've tried calling my dear husband Edward on occasion, but he doesn't seem to be going for it!!

  • If I die with a book in hand, I will die happily! I just finished reading Water for Elephants...such an amazing book! Has anyone read it? I'm dying to discuss it.

  • Just like British accents, I love Southern accents. My girlfriend Gwenn (yes, she spells it with two n's) is from the South, and she tickles me pink every time she opens her mouth!

  • I run a completely goofy household. The whole darn house is filled with goofballs, right down to the littlest one!

  • I've been told by many that I have the tiniest ears that they've  ever seen, but let me tell you, I can pick-up a conversation from across the room with one ear; yet another one of my many hidden talents!

  • I LOVE any variation of red polish...red toenails make me feel sexy!!!

So here are the amazing blogs I would like to pass along...

Hopelessly Hairy

Can I tell you all that I recently received the most brilliant item in the mail!! I mean, I think that this has got to be the most clever purchase that I have made in quite some time!!

No, it is nothing frilly, or anything in the mere stretch of the imagination that is going to make me feel ultra feminine about myself.  However, it is something that makes me embrace the inner me, the me that I quite diligently hide from the world!!

What is it you ask??? What could I have possibly bought that is going to make me acknowledge who I really am???

Well, let me give you a little background information first.

You see folks, I'm hairy. Hairy as they come. I don't know why, or how this has happened, but it has.  No one, I mean no one, in family is hairy. Just lil' ol' me!!!

Of course I fight against this oddity that has been inflicted upon me.

How do I fight back you ask??

Simple... I'm a waxing addict!!

Like a good girl, I have a standing appointment every two weeks with my AMAZING esthetician Cyndi, who awaits me with her "golden pot of torture" and her "macabre tools."

Cyndi

The Golden Pot of Torture

Macabre Tools

What a dear Cyndi is...
  • She is brave enough to combat the furry little caterpillars that I call eyebrows (without her I would look like Frida Kahlo).

Frida Kahlo
Please pay close attention to the eyebrows!

  • She is kind enough to take her precious little cotton strips, press them gently upon my upper lip, and then RIP!!

  • She even gives my lovely and noble chin her undivided attention.

In regards to my face there is only one lonely little area that my sweet Cyndi is forbidden to wax, and that would be the "little fuzzies" on the side of my face. Please do not make the grave error of calling them sideburns, I shall not accept that term!

Once, and only once, did Cyndi wax my "little fuzzies". This tragic experience ended in droplets of BLOOD!!!! I really had to control my reflexes, for I did want to pop the poor little dear (which of course I would never do)!!!

Okay, enough of the historical "hair" background....here is what I bought!!

 Two Bearded Ladies coin purse
Side A

Is this not too friggin cute??? Go figure, I've spent a large portion of my adulthood getting waxed, and hiding the fact that I'm a hairball, and then I go and buy a coin purse that is called  Two Bearded Ladies !!
Look, she thinks I'm clever!!!
Side B

Two Bearded Ladies is handmade by this fantastic woman from Australia, by the name of Belinda, who has the cutest Etsy shop, called Seventh Sphere. The coin purse is made with vintage cotton fabric, and has been lined with cutesy red and white polka dot fabric....AND it's one of a kind!!! I just love feeling unique!! And of course when I read the sign that the little bearded lady is holding I just KNEW that she was talking to me!!

So there you have it folks, this darling little coin purse has finally made me come to terms with the fact that I'm hopelessly hairy.

Does this mean that I'm giving up the waxing?

Well, I'm no fool... but it does make me feel better than someone across the globe has a fine appreciation for women such as myself!!

Make sure you check out this cool little shop...it really is the cutest, even if you're not into bearded ladies!!!

Adieu

Well, we are upon the eve of Valentines Day, and as many of you know, I am a true romantic at heart.

I simply adore little unexpected love notes,  perfume in pretty bottles, soft and frilly garments (whether worn on the outside, or underneath. Hehe), sassy red shoes, flowers in every hue, sweet fluffy feather pillows with rosebud prints, glowing candlelight, and of course loads of sparkly jewelry! You would figure that I am hoping for cupid to bring me something along those lines, right? Well I'm not!!

You see, I have a confession to make. My one absolute guilty pleasure is my holey, threadbare, raggedy men's robe that I have had for a trillion years. I know, this a shocker right?? Not so romantic... I know!!

It seems that I  have just painted a pretty picture, and then boom, I dropped a load of baby poo on it!!

Before you judge let me tell the various ways my beloved robe has served me:

  • It has acted as a nice and comfy "smoking jacket". Not that I smoke, but I feel that the robe gives that Hugh Hefner look when I wear it around the house over my regular clothes. I even slipped that bad boy on over my wedding dress on my wedding night!!! Well, if Al didn't see that as a caution sign, then I guess he must have had his eyes shut TIGHT!!

  • At night it serves as an extra blanket.

  • It's even served as a emergency baby blanket. Though Al put an immediate stop to that one. He told me if I wanted to look like a hobo that was one thing, but not the kids. Not to mention that between the two of my  munchkins, I have enough baby blankets to open up my own maternity ward!

Truly folks, the list could go on and on, but I have a feeling I would be the only one not bored.

Well, the time has come to bid the robe adieu. You see, the trim of the robe has become separated from the rest of the robe. This has proven to be a great hazard. Every time I walk past a door, the friggin trim gets caught on the doorknob!!! Not only tearing my lovey further, but yanking me backwards as well!!

So folks bow your heads with me and give a  moment of silence for my beloved robe. I wish that cupid ( a.k.a Al ) would bring me another, but I know he is glad to see the thing go, and is not willing to endure another 12 years of unattractive robe wearing. I know that he will continue to buy me slinky, silky robes from Victoria's Secret, and that I will continue NOT to wear them.

Ahhhh, but what Mr. doesn't know is that I have a BACK-UP tucked away in the depths of my closet!!

Mu ha ha ha!!!

Previous Valentine's Day Loot

My Beloved Robe
I know...can you believe I was wearing this?

Check out the frayed sleeves! Can you believe this?? Frayed not!! Hahaha, get it??
